The U.S. accused China of stealing trade secrets and allowing "rampant" online piracy and counterfeiting, adopting blunter language under the Trump administration toward the country's intellectual property crimes. "China is home to widespread infringing activity, including trade secret theft, rampant online piracy and counterfeiting, and high levels of physical pirated and counterfeit exports to markets around the globe," the U.S. Trade Representative's Office said in its annual so-called Special 301 Report on IP protection and enforcement by America's trading partners.
