Patent and Trademark Office Director Andrei lancu is focusing on improving patent quality and adopting pro-innovation polices in a bid boost his agency's global standing. "For more than just a few years, our system has been pushed and pulled, poked and prodded," lancu said in a speech in Washington at an event hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. "The cumulative result is a system in which the patent grant is less reliable today than it should be."
