Resolve Marine helps tow cruise ship to Alabama

The Triumph. Carnival Cruise Line's 4,200-passenger cruise ship, lost propulsion power after a fire broke out in the engine room on Feb. 10. Dead in the Gulf of Mexico about 150 miles from the Yucatan, the ship was towed to the Port of Mobile, Ala. The cruise line hired Fort Lauder-dale, Fla.-based Resolve Marine Group to handle the job. The Resolve Pioneer, a 207'×40'×17' anchor-handling lug with 80 tons of bollard pull. Was chosen to tow the Triumph. "The Pioneer brought it all the way from the initial position to just outside of Mobile Bay." said Capt. Farhat Imam, Resolve's COO. "With a low like this, it requires another lug on the stern to help with the steering."
