The importance of co-operation across the supply chain to drive sustainability and innovation, the growing influence of technical textiles, China's increasing challenges, and the growing opportunities for India, were the key points of discussion at the inaugural ITMA-ITMF World Textile Summit, which took place at the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I in Barcelona on September 21. The first of two keynote speakers, Kofi Annan, former UN secretary general, and an advocate for sustainable business practice, called for more textile companies to join the UN Global Compact, which Annan initiated 10 years ago.
