The autumn/winter 2013 Hong Kong Fashion Fair was alive with emerging local talent, striving to knock the big European luxury brands into the shade. Elizia Volkmann reports on the changes afoot in the design industry of this major trading hub. The Hong Kong Fashion Fair is one of the world's largest sourcing fairs, attracting in excess of 80,000 visitors over four days. Whilst most come to find production solutions, bubbling underneath is an emerging Hong Kong and Chinese fashion design scene gasping to be seen. Key events during the fair are the Fashion Extravaganza and Young Designers awards.
