Balancing sustainability with affordability

Primark has not always had the best reputation when it comes to sustainability. People often see the low prices and assume that translates to poor product quality and someone having been taken advantage of down the line. The disaster that was the Rana Plaza building collapse in Bangladesh back in 2013 didn't help matters either. But during that same year, Primark embarked on a mission to think more deeply about its supply chain, starting with a commitment to reduce the environmental impact of cotton. Thus, the Primark Sustainable Cotton Programme was born.
