The wastewater treatment industry is regularly called upon to improve treatment processes or increase treatment capacity. Higher-quality treatment is increasingly required by regulators, for example through the recent reviews of discharge consents during IPPC implementation. And further improvements are often demanded to treat contaminants previously not removed by existing processes.
