摘要

The French government has climbed down on plans to introducerna so-called 'smartphone tax', aimed at cushioning the country'srnmedia and advertising industries from revenue losses caused byrnover-the-top (OTT) online media services. The introduction of therncontroversial tax has been pushed back to 2015. BMI welcomes the move, as it gives consumer electronics and IT equipment vendors arnlittle longer to prepare themselves for the new pricing regime and torncontinue securing new sales and customers at a time when economicrnheadwinds remain extremely challenging.
