Many climate scientists contend that mitigation of the unprecedented and "unequivocal" warming of recent decades, as described by the 2007 synthesis report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, will require international teamwork. While exact solutions to the climate crisis are not clear, it is clear that quick and decisive action, responsible behavior, and global cooperation will go a long way. However, confusion regarding the scientific underpinnings among the public and policymakers continues to delay such decisive action.
