Disaster preparation in a changing climate

With recent statistics showing an increase in the number of disasters around the world and a new report revealing that 22 million people were displaced by disasters in 2013, disaster reduction and recovery figure prominently in recent studies, reports and events. The report'Global Estimates 2014' from the Norwegian Refugee Centre and Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre, created with EU assistance, used four decades of data and lays bare the human cost of disasters, particularly in Asia, where most of the displacement occurred.
