Human capacity shortages undermining watsan progress

The IWA has warned in a new report, launched at the IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition in Lisbon last month, that a shortage of human resources in the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sector will undermine progress made by many countries to increase access to water and sanitation over the past few decades. The analysis suggests that many countries may need to double their existing capacity in future and develop their skills to support the aim of attaining universal access.
