When Rushville, Ind., issued a notice to proceed with its selected contractor to build improvements at its water resource recovery facility (WRRF) on March 31, 2014, it expected all work to be completed by May 29, 2015. The project, authorized as part of the facility's 2013 combined sewer overflow long-term control plan (LTCP), included a new headworks to provide fine screening for solids and floatables control of all influent wastewater, an excess wet weather flow pump station, replacement of the existing aeration blowers, installation of an automated dissolved oxygen control system for energy reduction, and an upgrade of the existing deteriorated electrical system.
