Ban la: Worries to Manage a New Life

Ban La is a familiar term that people in Thanh Chuong District of central Nghe An Province call the resettlement for people living around the area of Ban Ve Hydro-power Plan. They have been resettled for two years, but their lives are still not stable. When Tet holiday comes, their worries grow. They worry about making a living, schooling their children and finding their daily bread. Nearly 200 householders from Kim Da Commune, Tuong Duong District, site of the Ban Ve Hydro-power project, have moved to new accommodation at Kim Lam Village, Hanh Lam Commune, Thanh Chuong District for two years. However, they still do not have ownership of this place.
