CNNP issues Zhangzhou 3 & 4 EIA for public comment

On October 12, China National Nuclear Corp. (CNNC) subsidiary China National Nuclear Power Corp. (CNNP) issued for public comment the site selection stage environmental impact assessment (EIA) report for the proposed Units 3 & 4 of the Zhangzhou nuclear power plant in Fujian Province,China. The EIA document outlines the environmental impacts as well as the construction schedule and relevant documents related to building two HPR-1000 (Hualong One) reactors at the Zhangzhou site. CNNP noted that it plans to pour first nuclear safety-related concrete for Zhangzhou 3 on August 30, 2022. Zhangzhou 4 is expected to see first concrete poured 10 months after Unit 3 (June 2023). Following a 58-month construction period, the two units are scheduled to be completed and put into operation on June 30, 2027 and April 30, 2028, respectively.
