摘要

The Energy Information Administration on Wednesday began soliciting input on whether and how to regulate the release of its weekly natural gas and crude oil inventory reports in light of recent efforts by some parties to access the data with technology that has ended up overloading the agency's servers and limiting access by others. In what EIA said could be construed as a "cyber security attack," some people have used aggressive automated retrieval programs called "robots" that can slow access to the online reports for other users.
