As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread around theworld, several nuclear power plant operators have communicatedtheir plans regarding continued safe operation of theirplants. In the U.S., NextEra Energy spokesperson LindsayRobertson told the press that the company’s nuclear plants,specifically Seabrook station in New Hampshire, are operatingunder an existing “pandemic plan,” which outlines proceduresfor ensuring continuity of service at all its nuclearplants. “This includes limiting access to our control centers toessential personnel only and putting various processes andprocedures in place that are designed to limit the spread of thevirus.” In addition to Seabrook, NextEra also operates theTurkey Point and St. Lucie plants in Florida, Point Beach inWisconsin, and Duane Arnold in Iowa.
