Inventive city-regions: path dependence and creative knowledge strategies

In this book, a team of social scientists and human geographers from the University of Amsterdam, Marco Bontje, Sako Musterd and Peter Pelzer, explore the relation between urban and regional growth and 'creative industries', regarded as the engines of advanced capitalist societies, and focuses on seven cities in five different countries. By using different sources of quantitative and qualitative data, the authors answer four questions: strengths and weaknesses of each city region for creative and knowledge-intensive industries;
