US duo set to target CCUS

CHEVRON has signed memorandum of understanding with pipeline company Enterprise Products Partners to study carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS) opportunities in the US Gulf Coast and Mid-continent. Under the outlined partnership, Chevron would provide subsurface expertise while Enterprise brings its midstream and storage experience. "This joint effort has the potential to advance our ongoing work to grow our lower carbon businesses with commercial scale using the industry expertise both companies bring to the project," said Jeff Gustavson, president of Chevron New Energies, a new division of the US supermajor focused on commercialising low-carbon opportunities.
