DOE Sets $20 Million Funding Initiative to Accelerate CCUS Deployment

The Department of Energy on April 1 announced up to $20 million in federal funding to help accelerate deployment of carbon capture,utilization and storage (CCUS) systems. The projects selected through the funding opportunity will support DOE’s Office of Fossil Energy Carbon Storage Program. DOE intends to award cooperative agreements to research and development projects that will identify and address regional storage and transportation challenges currently facing CCUS efforts. The projects should tackle key technical challenges, aid data collection, sharing and analysis, evaluate regional infrastructure and promote technology transfer.
