Petronas banking on healthy portfolio for reserves boost

PETRONAS has built up a robust portfolio of exploration prospects with a focus on near-field domestic developments as it looks to boost reserves. Malaysia's national oil company "is still trying to replenish its resources" and has a "very sizeable and healthy" portfolio of exploration prospects, according to Petronas executive vice president and chief execurtive upstream Adif Zulkifli. "Especially in Malaysia, it's in our best interest to continue to explore. And just like any other company, outside of Malaysia we've got to be a lot more selective, going only for material prospects and leads. "We are looking for resources that we are able to bring to market in the shortest amount of time," Adif says.
