Marubeni teams up for CCUS

JAPANESE conglomerate Marubeni has teamed up with UK-based Carbon Clean Solutions Limited (CCSL) to jointly develop carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) projects to be owned and operated by industrial users including the petrochemical and refining sectors. Marubeni - which has significant interests in upstream oil and gas and liquefied natural gas projects - has invested in CCSL via a $22 million Series B funding round, it revealed late last week. The money will be used to build the CCSL team and deliver the company's carbon dioxide capture technology to projects across the steel, cement, waste management, refining and petrochemicals sectors, CCSL said.
