OMV to turn bit off NZ

AUSTRIAN operator OMV has resumed its offshore drilling campaign in New Zealand, which has so far featured two uncommercial exploration wells. OMV's campaign, which local activists have been trying to disrupt, began in November with the Gladstone-1 well in the Taranaki basin followed by the Tawhaki-1 well in the Great South basin, and has now moved back to the Taranaki basin. OMV said it is now drilling the Toutouwai-1 exploration well in Block PEP 60093, and this will be followed by the Maui-8 near-field exploration well in Block PML 381012.
