摘要

INTERNATIONAL operators in Mexico are continuing to make progress with deep-water work in an initial round of blocks awarded in 2016, which included both the country's inaugural deep-water bid Round 1.4 as well as state oil company Pemex's initial farm-out. In June, Malaysia's Petronas spudded its Yaxchilan Este-1 well in Area 4 in the Salina basin, understood to be a carbonate target. Work is being carried out by the drillship Rowan Renaissance in about 1085 metres of water. With the well expected to take about 90 days, results are due back in mid- to late-September.
