CIMC on mark for Tortue

CHINESE yard CIMC Raffles has just signed an engineering, procurement and construction contract with UK supermajor BP for provision of a jack-up accommodation and utilities platform for developing its Tortue-Ahmeyim floating liquefied natural gas project off Mauritania and Senegal, writes Xu Yihe. Sources said that the contract is based on CIMC's earlier agreement with BP to conduct the front-end engineering and design for the project, which is based on the Agosto 12 design. US contractor KBR will provide the project management. The platform will be installed in a water depth of roughly 30 metres close to the phase one FLNG vessel that is set to be supplied by Norway's Golar LNG, and is designed to accommodate more than 200 personnel, while also providing utilities for the hub. The platform is designed to incorporate cutting-edge safety and security features and is also designed to satisfy the highest standards of the American Bureau of Shipping, as well as BP's own standards, CIMC said earlier.
