Explorers making a difference

PRIVATELY owned oil and gas companies are making an impact in Australia in the exploration and field development arenas, writes Russell Searancke. Perth-based Finder Exploration is a leading example of a small private company at the forefront of offshore exploration. During its 13-year history, Finder has participated in five offshore exploration wells resulting in three fields and a fourth well with gas shows. Finder was instrumental in the play-opening Phoenix South, Roc and Olympus discoveries off Western Australia.
