Russian duo aims to spend

THE boards of Russian state-controlled giants Gazprom and Rosneft have rubber-stamped plans to spend a total of about $38 billion in 2019 on pipeline projects, commissioning of greenfields and oil refinery upgrades, writes Vladimir Afanasiev. Gazprom said it is looking to spend about 1.33 trillion rubles ($19.6 billion) this year, with the bulk of investments lined up to complete three major gas export pipeline projects - the first phase of the Sila-Sibiri pipeline running from East Siberia to the Russian-Chinese border, the TurkStream line across the Black Sea to Turkey, and the Nord Stream 2 link running across the Baltic Sea to Germany.
