Dozens of unmanned systems were showcased at the UVS-Tech 2009 special unmanned systems exhibition, held at the Moscow Expocen-tre at the end of January.rnThe exhibition, the third one organized by Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade, exhibited a number of unmanned aircraft plat-rnforms and types in a compact space, including various subsystems for control, payload operation and communication.rnDue to the ongoing worldwide financial crisis, some companies that have long worked in the UAS market did not demonstrate new systems, but there were interesting projects on display nonetheless.rnDubna's Antigrad-Avia Co. offered an "unmanned truck," or flying container that could be used to carry cargo, such as transporting first aid to disaster-stricken remote areas. It could also be used for cloud seeding, says Vladimir Soloviov, the company's director and chief designer, as it's smaller and cheaper than manned aircraft used for this purpose.
