摘要

An experimental method related to the HAUP (high-accuracy universal polarimeter)for measuring the optical activity and other parameters of optical anisotropy is proposed and a respective automatic high-accuracy polarimeter is built. Parasitic eliipticities of a polarizer and an analyzer p and q and the angular error δ_X(the miss-setting of the crossed polarizer's position) are taken into account. For determination of the gyration tensor component g_11 in La_3Ga_5SiO_14, previous experiments with optically inactive samples are used to find r = p-q and δ_X. Quantitative analysis shows that systematic errors essentially influence Final results.
