Kaohsiung collapses twice in one week

Taiwan's Kaohsiung Rapid Transit Corporation is establishing a supervisory panel to monitor progress on the Kaohsiung metro following a series of cave-ins on the US$6bn project, including two in one week in early December last year. The panel is being set up under the orders of the Kaohsiung city government, which awarded the corporation a design-build-finance-operate concession in 2000.
