Fifteen consortia queue up for prequalification on Makkah metro contracts

Saudia Arabia Prequalification is underway for contracts to build two new metro lines totalling 44km in the Saudi Arabian holy city of Makkah (also known as Mecca). The Mayor of Makkah and chair of the executive committee of the city's public transport company Osama Al-Barr announced on 20 January that 1 5 national and international consortia have submitted documents to qualify for contracts on the SAR 25.5bn (USD 6.8bn) project.
