The evolution of transport demand and regulations

Globalisation means producing the best products at the best locations and trading under the best possible economic, social and fiscal conditions. Due to its high quality 'door-to-door' services, road transport is the only mode able to interconnect all these businesses.rnSince 1948, through 775 global network of 180 members in 74 countries, the International Road Transport Union (IRU) has promoted the interests of road passenger and road freight transport operators to interconnect people, businesses and markets worldwide. In this article Janusz Lacny, IRU President, takes a look at EU regulations which have evolved to restrict road transport operations.
