News of yet another new European specification for heavy-duty diesel engine oils could be seen as the last straw by many hard-pressed fleet engineers. It was only two years ago after all that the top-quality E4 specification was introduced. So what the heck are they trying to sell us now? Are there not already more than enough confusing sets of initials and strings of numbers on oil specification sheets?
