Toowoomba region sustainable transport strategy

In December 2014 the Toowoomba Regional Council released its sustainable transport strategy for the Toowoomba region. The strategy was developed to ensure the region's transport needs are met whilst development is sustainable and the natural environment is protected. The strategy has been designed to complement other infrastructure projects such as the Toowoomba Second Range crossing. Other plans and strategies that this strategy works around include the Darling Downs Regional Plan, Queensland's Moving Freight Strategy; Toowoomba parking strategy and others. The strategy was developed in part through community consultation and it acknowledges future challenges such as increasing traffic, ageing population and population growth.
