摘要

Recently, two ANS summaries appeared featuring a new approach to the solution of the reactor kinetics equations in plane geometry for highly heterogeneous media. The concept presented was to recast the steady state homogenous solution to the diffusion equation into a convenient form allowing for a straightforward treatment of the heterogeneous medium. After a Laplace transform of the reactor kinetics equations and with only modest modification, the steady state solution becomes the transform solution to be inverted. Transient results then follow through the application of a numerical Laplace transform. The identical approach will now be applied to the one-group reactor kinetics equations in heterogeneous cylindrical geometry.
