摘要

Various studies have shown that hydrogen burning is one of major risk contributors to threaten the integrity of the containment during certain severe accidents in a nuclear power plant (NPP)[1]. Deliberate ignition is an effective concept to mitigate the hydrogen risk. Hydrogen is burned off by slow deflagration, with the energy release distributed spatially and temporally, providing a series of small pressure increases. Deliberate ignition provides fasting-acting and high capacity removal of H_2/O_2, and inadvertent detonation is precluded.[2]
