The Y-12 National Security Complex has relied upon simulation modeling to analyze many of its complex problems to help in decision making in the short term and in the long term. Simulation models are often used to evaluate throughput either in comparison to a requested or proposed schedule or with respect to the matching of the capability of a proposed new machine, process, or facility to the capability of an existing system.
