RERTR Programme on Core Conversion of MNSR from HEU to LEU

The Miniature Neutron Source Reactor (MNSR) is a low power research reactor designed and manufactured by the China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE) since the mid-1980s. A total of nine MNSRs were built: four in China, one each in Pakistan (1989), Iran (1994), Ghana (1995), Syria (1996), and Nigeria (2004). The Nigeria Research Reactor-1 (NIRR-1) is a MNSR, which went critical for the first criticality was achieved on 03 February 2004 [1].
