Optimal Meshing Methods and Schemes for the Simulation of Assembly

CFD simulation has been widely studied and used for the prediction of the physical process in the reactor'11. However, the simulation object is usually a local region with several rods, so the computing resource is easy to be satisfied and the meshing methods can be designed easily. The region size will affect the simulation results, so the simulation region needs to be expanded to get higher fidelity results. Simulation for large region has more limitation at the requirement of computing resource and time. CASL has already had the simulation for a quarter of a core with the wide cooperation and technology accumulation, but there are only two other simulations which can chose 17×17 rods for investigation in which the spacer grid is simplified with no spring and dimple. So it is significant to design the optimal methods and schemes to reduce the computing cost.
