摘要

The DPC drain pipe experimental program was divided into two phases to provide a separate effects approach to the problem and to allow for development of system scalability. The first phase included a rapid modification of the existing mercury flow loop, where strain and flow-induced vibrational measurements were performed along a shortened vertical pipe. The pipe length was half of that typically utilized for a DPC drain pipe. The second phase consists of the design and construction of a separated mercury flow loop capable of hosting exchangeable test sections and more localized instrumentation.
