Enhancing employability through Meka's Method: an innovative teaching and training tool

Purpose - This paper aims to introduce an innovative teaching and training tool, Meka's method, to enhance employability. Design/methodology/approach - It draws on the author's 31 years of experience in the defence industry, teaching, training, research and consultancy. Findings - It reveals how Meka's method can help to ensure that students are employable and deployable. Practical implications - The paper asserts the usefulness of the method, particularly in helping to develop the soft skills of interpersonal communication among students in rural India. Social implications - It highlights the social impact of skill-development. Originality/value - The paper turns the spotlight on how to teach and train with Meka's method and how to integrate various stakeholders - industry, educators, students, educational institutions and non-governmental organizations - into the process of skill development.
