Refund policies and restocking fees have become the focus of regulatory interest in some states. Best Buy is one of the latest companies that have come under scrutiny for charging customers restocking fees for returns without clear disclosure. Best Buy charges a 15 percent restocking fee on returns of any opened notebook, computer, projector, camcorder, digital camera, radar detector, and GPS system. The company also charges a restocking fee of 25 percent on special order products. Customers aren't happy, and they're turning to the Web to complain about these fees.
