摘要

In this issue we publish compelling articles from two students at the Pratt Institute School of Information. We are again highlighting the high quality of our library school students in this column. In her article "The Dark(ish) Side of Digitization: Information Equality and the Digital Divide," Polly Cancro gives us a perceptive take on the topic of the digital divide, providing a discerning discussion of the "dark side" of relying on digitization for access. To quote Polly, "Not only do libraries themselves feel the effects of the digital divide, but their own use of certain technological developments (e.g., collection digitization), which are rightly seen as largely positive as they create the potential for the democratization of information and appear to be tending toward equality, also have the potential to further entrench existing inequities."
