From April 8, passenger services will run from Caernarfon to Beddgelert, and then, from May 22, trains will be extended to Hafod y Llyn (one mile south of Nantmor), taking in the magnificent Aberglaslyn Pass! The WHR will be opening all the way to Porthmadog after the summer peak. The Welsh Highland Railway (Rhcilffordd Eryri) carries passengers behind the most powerful two-foot gauge steam locomotives ever built, through some of the most spectacular scenery in the UK. Travel with the WHR in 2009 when the last phase of this 11-year project to connect to its sister railway - the Ffestiniog Railway in Porthmadog - will be completed, uniting North Wales' newest railway with the world's oldest independent railway!
