A High-Speed rail service between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, carrying passengers at speeds of up to 200km/h, has moved closer after Union Railway proposed adding a link between the two metropolitan centres to its nationwide plan. Subject to a feasibility study, the proposal would represent the most solid plans for an inter-city link in the region to date. It would be the only dedicated passenger line on Union Railway's freight-focused network.
