Exclusive: Moves are afoot to keep the surviving 1906 ex-GWR turntable at Old Oak Common for main line steam servicing when the site is redeveloped as part of the Crossrail and HS2 projects.rnAlthough it may not be possible for the 'table to remain in its present position, there is strong interest in retaining it somewhere on the site.rnAnother historic structure at Old Oak is the 'Factory'. This building has been identified, belatedly, by English Heritage as of special interest, but cannot now be protected by 'listing' due to the powers of the Crossrail Act.
