PREPARATIONS are being made to lift the cab and boiler from the Erlestoke Manor Fund's Severn Valley Railway-based No. 7802 Bradley Manor. The frames and wheels will be sent to Tyseley Locomotive Works for overhaul with completion expected by late spring 2012. EMF is also building a replacement Churchward 3,500 gallon tender for No. 7802. A redundant tender chassis (No. 2329) has been purchased from Llangollen to provide components, although the frames and wheelsets will not be utilised for the new tender. Dinmore Manor overhaul progress THE contracted overhaul of the frames of Dinmore Manor Locomotive Limited's No. 7820 Dinmore Manor at Tyseley is almost complete. The trailing wheelset has returned to Tyseley following work at the South Devon Railway's Buckfastleigh workshops and the wheelsets, with repaired axleboxes, are ready to be put back under the frames. The valves have been re-bored and are ready for fitting The boiler is receiving attention at Ian Riley's Bury works where newly formed doorplate and throatplate parts will be fitted, work likely to be completed in mid-2012.
