Sibiu-Agnita Railway gets UK supporters

A UK supporters'group for the 750mm gauge Sibiu to Agnita railway in Romania is the result of a meeting in Birmingham. The line runs through the delightful Hartibaciu Valley in Transylvania and connects the small town of Agnita with the heritage city of Sibiu. The railway closed in September 2001 but the track is still mainly in situ. Under the patronage of Bill Parker, owner of Britain's Flour Mill works, substantial initial work has been done by Romanian preservationists in Agnita (Friends of the Mocanita).
