The boiler for Ivatt 2MT 2-6-0 No. 46512 was delivered to the Strathspey Railway on November 12 following repairs by LNWR Heritage, Crewe. Steam tests on November 18/19 were followed by lifting the boiler into the overhauled frames on November 20. The loco is expected to be fully painted by February, on target for a return to service in April 2011. NRM-owned SR'Schools'4-4-0 No. 925 Cheltenham has been largely stripped at Eastleigh and asbestos is being removed. Lifting the boiler (not thought to be Cheltenham's originally) has confirmed it was originally fitted with a Lemaiti multi-jet blast pipe and large chimney. Cheltenham itself has a conventional blast pipe. The overall condition of the loco is described as'looking good'.
