The Ffestiniog Railway's George England 0-4-0STT Princess is to be extracted from its resting place inside Spooner's bar at Porthmadog station in November, an operation that will involve removal of the end doors and frames from the building. Plans are still being finalised, but there is outline approval for Princess to be displayed on the concourse at Paddington station for St David's Day next year. Also going to London will be fellow England loco Prince (now a rolling chassis as its overhaul proceeds at Boston Lodge, with a new stainless steel smokebox made and delivery of new flue tubes awaited).
