Eurotunnel 'overcharging, says European Commission

Channel Tunnel operator Eurotunnel is being accused by the European Commission of overcharging. The EC says the company is charging excessively for track access, which is then passed to customers in the form of prices for passenger and freight movement costs. The EC also claims that other rail companies are being deterred from using the tunnel - some have abandoned plans altogether - thus stifling growth. Currently, 43% of the tunnel's capacity is unused.
